Photos ~ Beautiful Summer fluke in Spring
Wow. I don't need to tell you how stunning it was out there in the Puget Sound area yesterday -- but I will anyway. Sarah and I headed out from work for some lunch downtown and nearly broke a sweat walking back from the link. After staring jealously out the windows in the afternoon we enjoyed dinner at St. Helens Cafe since we correctly assumed they have those great garage doors open to the outside world. From there I could help but snag a couple early evening shots of downtown and Old City Hall from the St. Helens area.
Yea, so today is quite a bit muddier out there and it smells great but it certainly doesn't make for the same kind of photo ops as yesterday. Did you get out and enjoy the weather at all yesterday?

Sigh. Other than short little walks, I gambled on today being just as beautiful and went to bed early. And lost the gamble. But then made use of today's decent afternoon to do gardening, and now the rain is doing the watering for me! It's a nice silver lining ...

I am definitely a photo-fan of yours/the group's! Maybe I'll be able to join at some point. I'm going to admit something kinda goofy. When I read the word "fluke" in the link to this page, I was hoping you'd had a whale sighting! (I hear they're around more in the summer. Also I know they occasionally make an appearance this far south)...Do you have any shots of whales??

laura: Thanks for the compliment. You should join us next time the Photo Gang heads out. We're looking to hit local alleys the weekend of Apr. 28/29 -- stay tuned for more info.
I've never seen a whale in the wild nor have I phototgraphed one. :( Sad, I know. Need to get to the San Juan's sometime to see. I did take a shot of a seal (or otter?) at the mouth of the Thea Foss late last year. (see http://www.kevinfreitas.net/journal/photos-morning-thea-foss/#photos)
Cheers! ~ Kevin
