Crapdamncrap: Trinity!

Yeah, so last night I was tooling around with my machine to install a shiny new video card (which didn't work) and broke the rest of my computer. The hard drive didn't seem to like something I did (a pox on thee, Western Digital) and it refuses to start up normally. I stayed up 'til 1:30am this morning and took the day off work to see if I could recover anything not backed up during the episodes of computer problems I had over a month ago (see Crapdamncrap! and Crapdamncrap: Part II. As I'm sure I've expounded on about before, it never fails that no matter how much one knows about this stuff it always finds some new way to go wrong. I've decided to utilize our laptop for the next week until Xmas/New Years break wherein I'll have a week to toil and recover from this debacle. My hopes are to snag a new hard drive and use the replacement Western Digital may be sending me as a server-based backup onto which I'll throw nightly incremental backups of my most sensitive data.

If anyone would like to invent the perfect computer, please let me know so I can toss a few investment coins in the fountain.

Truly. Just bought a 200gig Seagate that should be a nice change from the far louder Western Digital that seems to have gone belly up on me. The road to recovery begins...

Sexeh hard drive, me I am running a gaming toshiba laptop which is working perfectly fine. Meaning you really shouldn't be screwing around with your PC because my laptop is a year old and it runs HL2 on maxed visials without a hitch.... I love my ATI

Good luck getting everything up and going, Kev! The sooner you can be playing HL2 the better (it's so pretty!)!

Yeah, I've got a machine up and running and, although the video card I desired pooped out on me, I'm playing HL2 on an interim card and it still looks/plays great. Kudos to Valve for a well-engineered game engine! w00t!
