Photos ~ Tacoma Daffodil Parade and Pacific Square dedication

Sarah and I caught a bus downtown to see the 2006 Daffodil Grand Floral parade and the dedication of the just finished Pacific Square. We arrived after the parade started but still found a great spot to enjoy it from. We saw plenty of marching bands among which a couple really impressed us with their musicality and moves. There were a few nice floats but the pirate ship with the booming (albeit tiny) cannon was my personal favorite.

Once the parade was over we headed over to Pacific Square (a.k.a. Triangle Square in my mind). A great young juggler/entertainer warmed up the crowd awaiting the dedication and even got a couple fellow Tacomans in on the act. Tacoma's mayor Bill Baarsma had a tough act to follow and gave a pretty stiff, written little blurb before he and a couple others snipped a ceremonial ribbon to christen the new park.

Since the weather was so fine (especially compared to this year's Jr. Daffodil Parade), Sarah and I continued on to have a nice bagel lunch, a quick candy treat for dessert, followed by some bargain shopping at Urban eXchange.

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood city and we were more than happy to enjoy it with the rest of those who aren't afraid to get out and enjoy this place once in a while.

Kevin! My husband and I were looking at your amazing pictures from the parade and we both agree that you have such a gift. Some of those shots are seriously beautiful and I would totally consider framing them and putting them up in our home. Keep posting them!

Thanks guys! I love taking photos and am always happy to share them with others. It's a great joy of mine to be able to convey a little snippet of life's beauty here and there. Glad you enjoyed them and keep those comments coming.

Say, you think I should enable comments on each photo individually? Just a thought...

I was just browsing through the parade pictures, and you really do a nice job. You have an eye for the out of ordinary picture. My favorite is the Cow bell picture (she seems truly happy) and the little girl in the boat. Runner up is the lone bubble. And for letting other people comment, I say yes! If it doesn’t work out you can always remove this feature.

I think it would be great if people could comment on induvidual pictures.

Kevin: I like the cowbell girl photo, too. I'm not used to people actually enjoying their picture being taken let alone posing a bit. I wonder if this is what it's like to work with models?

That's 2 YES, 0 NO on the photo comment idea. Any other takers?

Please add me to the list of those that would like the specific photo comment feature. This is something that will be available for all sites you design, correct? ;-)

It's easier to add to your sites than mine. Yes, it'll be there. I'll be sure to add my time to your invoice. ;)
