It was a dark and stormy night...

Actually, it was definately day time when this doosey of a storm ran over this area. Work today was pretty nominal and consisted of much manual reading for some of our equipment. Noon time was lunch time and a dark, sinister sky awaited me. The clouds merely spit on me as I cross the street to my dorm. Then it struck! Blustering warm winds pounded the marble raindrops against any structure or high school student it could find. Safely inside I did the only thing that popped into my head. I took pictures. Watching from the stairwell on the 3rd floor I snapped photos of visiting high school student cliques running for cover so their Gap wear wouldn't get soiled. Well, unfortunately for them, the torrent came fast and a mere 15 second exposure would render one soaked to the proverbial bone. Claps of thunder accompanied forked lightning as the cell rolled overhead and off to the east. I then soon cuddled up at work and finished up my work day.

On a bit of a side note, Jason Looper and I finished the mount I've been helping him with, and man do I feel buff. After all that hacking and sawing of metal and smoothing of sharp edges I might even want to become somewhat of a handy man. Nah! It was good experience to just build what we needed for our astronomical equipment. Somehow it'll make the data we collect with it a little more valuable to the two of us.

The rest of this Friday just slipped by as I ate dinner, watched TV, and took a couple of early evening photos. My only other activity for the night was a summer cleaning on my web site. Click on the links above to see the touch ups. Nothing too exciting, just sprucing up the place.
