Democrats take it in the (r)ear
So now what are we supposed to do? Now that all sorts of information is surfacing about the voting across parts of the nation it's becoming apparent that something ain't right. We need to get to bottom of this. A group of congressmen wrote this letter (PDF, 604K) to the GAO asking for an immediate investigation into voting irregularities since while the information is fresh. What about numbers that show the various exit polls taken showing Kerry in the lead most of election night that turned out completely wrong? These surveys aren't bloody ever wrong except this time and in 2000. Oh, and how about counties in Ohio and Florida that consist of, say, 70% registered democrats and 30% republicans voting 70% for Bush and 30% for Kerry? Too bad they voted on Diebold voting machines that don't even print out a damn paper copy! I get a receipt when I buy a pack of gum so why wouldn't a paper copy of a vote be created for verification and recount purposes? It's just unbelievable.
My favorite part about all this is that Kerry already conceded the election to Bush in the name of peace and harmony. What the hell is that? Is this legally binding? What if these machines and other voter frauds turn up to flip-flop (you like that?) the election for Kerry? Does he still lose because of his concession? I guess I'm not sure why the hell they're doing just what they did in 2000 and crawling back into a non-confrontational hole when the Supreme Court illegially interfered with the state of Florida's decision to re-count the votes? Read the official Bush vs. Gore Supreme Court Opinion (PDF, 55K) Now, I live in a state with its head on straight and we voted the way our polls showed we would. No one thinks they can pull one over our eyes when probably half the blogosphere lives around the Puget Sound -- all hell would break loose if they did. So, let's pick on a state of retirees and one of blue collar steel mill workers. Yeah! Give them computers and walk away. Think they'll figure out how to vote? Sure. Think they'll figure out what happened to their vote when we switch the numbers using Excel? Hell no! Arrrg! This better get some press and attention while we still have some democrats with an ounce of power because once Bush is sworn-in next January we're officially mute. Oh, and does anyone else find it convenient that the offensive on Fallujah is taking place right now when it can serve to squelch/trump any voting fraud/tampering/hacking stories?
So here I write in my journal in a state who's voting went smoothly and in the direction I certainly desired. What am I to do for those folks in Ohio and Florida (among other states)? How do I make a difference in the democratic party and urge them to seek this out?
I suggest you read this to learn more about how some votes may have been hacked. Oh, and check these out: registered voters vs. number that actually voted in one Ohio county (PDF, 55K source: http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/BOE/results/currentresults1.htm) Time to make some signs and make some noise!
