Doyle's worthy bangers and mash
What: Doyle's Public House
Where: 208 St. Helens Ave, Tacoma, WA [ map ]
Hours: 11am-2am daily
Phone: 253-238-5359
We met up with Angela and Steve (of the Fergusons) last night at Doyle's in the Stadium District of Tacoma. After we all successfully found parking Sarah snagged us a choice window table and we each grabbed a stool. Once inside, I noticed how not noisey it was. Althought plenty of people were there enjoying drinks, food, and conversation some insulation on the ceiling must dampen things pretty well. At the time there also wasn't any music playing or game on one of the TVs. We all ordered our drinks that came each in their own special glasses.
We were there for food as well and the ladies had the french dip while the gentlemen had bangers and mash. Although impossible to compare to my Monster Mash experience in Scotland this place did a solid job providing a little Irish soul food for a really reasonable price. And, hey whaddaya know? Plenty of people on a Thursday night even with the smoking ban? Yeah, I'm sure it'll ruin business. Or it'll bring guys like me that never stepped foot in a bar head out and enjoy a pint with good friends.
Anyway, we had a great time and really enjoyed the feel and comfortable atmosphere of Doyle's. Now, if we only had a streetcar to drop us off there...
Thanks to Jamie for the tip on this one!

What a great recommendation--I will keep my eyes open for it if/when I'm ever in the area (which becomes more likely with each passing month!).
