Evaporating asphalt...

As this is summer in the northern hemisphere, the weather can be somewhat saucy. No matter what, if the sun is shining, it is noticeably more intense than in all the other seasons of the year. When you add a little dose of rain into this sun-amplified mix, a weather cornucopia abounds.

Today was one of those days. Thunder storms started in the morning and intermittent showers/downpours made cameo appearances throughout. I took a break from work to get the mail. When I reached the road, I noticed something; a sound I'd never heard before. The road and plants were bubbling around me. Promptly I realized that the sun was cooking the freshly fallen precipitation.

You know you live in a quiet, sacred place when you can notice such small details as the evaporating asphalt.
