Filthy 15 house not so filthy?
A visit to Tacoma's Filthy 15 webpage to get details on a Tacoma Ave. house on the list yeilded a bit of a surprise. One of the houses on the list didn't seems quite so filthy when I recently drove by it. The place is at 1102 N. Proctor and I know it well because we drove by it everytime we headed back and forth while moving from our former rental to our current house. The photo on the Filthy 15 site is how it looked then over a year ago. Driving by the place recently (before realizing it was on this locally infamous list) I noticed how far it had come along and been cleaned up.
Well, despite the appearance of being in better shape the "last updated" date of its Filthy 15 status was April 18, 2006. That must mean the place isn't fit for occupancy for reasons not seen from the outside. I think this is a great place and hope the owner can raise it up from its current status soon. I'm sure there are filthier places out there in Tacoma.
Do you know of any filthier places than this? Shoot me an address in the comments below (remain anonymous if you want) and I'll be sure to pass your Filthy 15 nominations along to the city!
