Good to Go for more dinero
Heard from a co-worker and an article in the News Tribune that those transponders used for tolls across the Narrows will soon cost new customers some money. Each sticker will cost $12 and a new license plate mounted monstrosity will be $30.
Sounds like the change will happen within 10 days (which would land about Monday, Sept. 3) of existing customers receiving an email about it. So, for those of us who don't yet have one and won't get said notification, now might be a good time. I just ordered two for our cars and was happy not to have to pay an extra $24 on top of the minimum $30 for tolls.

The transponders are artificially inexpensive. If you want to live in the suburbs, you should have to pay for your automobile consumption. The federal and state governments have been subsidizing automobiles for far too long. I would like to see each bridge crossing cost $20 and the transponders $500 a pop. Maybe hitting selfish suburbanites in the pocketbook might convince them to change their consumptive ways.

Kevin, I can't find the e-mail that was sent to me about the Good To Go rate hike. I guess I was so mad I just deleted it for good.
And Andre ... grow up. I don't consider myself (and Kevin to be sure) "selfish, consumptive suburbanites". $20 to cross a bridge is ridiculous. You're consuming the same amount of materials as we all are (and if you think not, you'd better stop browsing the internet).
