HalfStaff.us Informs About Flag Status
Ever wonder why a flag you drive by is at half-staff? Yeah, me too. Just yesterday flags here in Washington state were lowered but did you know why? It seems to happen frequently enough but is not an easy thing to learn the "why" about. Out of this personal curiosity came a site I recently setup called HalfStaff.us. The site simply does one thing: informs why the U.S. flag is at half-staff near you. I scan various new sources daily and pull in info directly from official, government sources where possible with links to my sources to ensure accuracy.
More helpful features will come but I hope HalfStaff.us already makes it easier for the men and woman for whom this symbolic act occurs to be honored and all of us made better aware of their sacrifice and service.
