Charming horse carriage spotted downtown
I've noticed it a couple times in the last week or two and finally snapped a photo. A stunning, white horse drawn carriage with bouquets of flowers and drivers in red suits and cute little hats doddling down Pacific. See for yourself:

I saw them first when the Lipizzaner's were in town and thought it was a cross promotion of some kind. Then again last Thursday night they went up and down Pacific at least once. Couldn't find any info about who's running the ride but would love to know if anyone out there has any leads. Nevertheless, it's a lovely addition to downtown that I hope sticks around -- as long as they clean up after themselves. ;) Consequently, is there a "scoop" law in place here for horses?

The carriages started with the kickoff of the Go Local campaign two weeks ago. They'll be around on Thursday nights - after rush hour - all summer.
The company can be found at counrywagon.com.

Wow. That's amazing. Quite a visual turning point. Hope they can make it.
Morgan: for now this will have to do until the street cars get built.

The Downtwon Merchants Group is helping out with this.
Our goal is to bring something Downtown to encourage people to enjoy downtown. Try something differant.
Please support the activity on the streets.

Is this really Tacoma? I guess they must detect enough life on the street to make it viable. A milestone for downtown.

I have seen them a few times around town over the last couple years. Usually on Broadway in front of David's.
