10 story sculpture planned for Hotel Murano?
Will the new Hotel Murano (in the old Sheraton) sport a large outdoor sculpture when it's ready in November of this year? A flyer for the brokerage company leasing the restaurant space at the top of the building shows a rendering of the outdoor art.

I vote "yes" although if work hasn't yet been started it may only stay in the architectural rendering.
Consequently, there's a 4,500 sq. ft. restaurant for lease with seating for 132 folks in the dining area and 44 in a the lounge all centrally located and with great views. Link to the flyer
Thanks Erik!

Wow. That's incredible.
It's bold.
It's...well it's blue.
It will employ many artists. In fact, the considerable art in Hotel Murano will employ many artists. Hopefully a number from Tacoma.
It's much better than a billboard.
It's viewable from 15,000 ft by aircraft.

reminds me of a broken diaper pin. yes sir, A huge blue broken diaper pin.
It's good to see developers taking such a bold statement.

Hold on. Take a look at the picture again and the blue glass forest they are going to place in front of the building.
That's looks pretty interesting as well.
These new art projects could add some color to the city.
Also, it looks like the sidewalk is yellow...We will see....

I too saw a clothespin, fwiw.
And what's the obsession with blue art around here, anyway? First the rock candy at MOG, then the tarp-link monstrosity at Marcato, and now here we have not one but TWO blue-themed installations...

To me it looks like a ladle from a punch bowl full of some blue curacao inspired drink. I don't know what to think of the forest. It looks impenetrable. Perhaps home to the Smurfs.
