A whole new world [wide web]
Ever racing toward her goal of becoming an accomplished graphic artist and web designer, my girlfriend Sarah stepped onto the scene recently with a new version of her self-titled domain SarahChampion.com. She fussed and foiled to tonight reach a final new design. Clicking, dragging, and editing the pieces of her finished web puzzle took many different, and sometimes stressful, sessions at her computer. Nice touches include the use of user-friendly pull-down menus and a clever randomly loading self-portrait.
In all, I'm terribly proud of what she's done with her site. But as if that weren't enought she also recently designed her first commercial, non-personal website for the Tacoma Art Museum. Meeting all of her collegues expectations and probably impressing more than a few of them was also no cake walk of a task. But my girl knows how to work hard for something that she wants and believes she can accomplish. She crossed normal HTML hand coding with the frustrating act of designing in Microsoft FrontPage (yeah, you heard me Microsoft -- you suck!) to help launch a new look and feel for the website. Under pressure and under paid (in my humble opinion), she uploaded the site the day before a groundbreaking ceremony for the museum's future home.
So you know I'm proud of my girl. It's really hard not to be when I have the chance every day to bask in the shine of her being.
