Newly coupled
Sarah and I met up with Mandy and her friends around 9am this morning so they could all get done up at a local Roseburg styling salon. Sarah was on first for some stylin' followed by the bride Mandy. The process of beautifying ones hair can be a pretty hilarious one. The process itself can render some amusing results before the final product is ready.
But once that part (sorry) is done, next comes the main event: the wedding. People at the church were scurrying about while I either took pictures or talked to Sarah's dad. We managed to pass the time relatively quickly because, before we knew it, 2pm had rolled around, the church was packed, and the pre-recorded, pre-selected wedding music began to play. A few custom-made vows later and a new married couple was created before us all! It was a short but lovely service that quickly gave way to the reception at the nearby Umpqua Community College.
The gala event was a little short on chairs and tables and I swear two members of some popular "boy band" were running the music. The usual run of reception traditions were forced into motion by on of the MC/DJ types. Sarah's family and I opted to stay removed from the action and shortly opted to hit the road.
Sarah and I made the safe and rain heavy drive back north to Tacoma with only a brief stop in Wilsonville, OR for some of Wendy's best dinner items and a quick tour of Fry's - the supermarket of anything electronic. I always appreciate traveling with Sarah because it gives us a unique opportunity to be isolated with one another away from many distractions that normally don't allow for an in-depth conversation to take place. Though most of all she's just damn cute when she falls asleep in the passenger seat.
