Envy, thy name is DS Lite
After we shipped an ice blue one over for Sarah from Hong Kong, I've been urgin' to get my own. That's right, I have a serious case of tech envy. But no more. After a little dinner tonight I headed to the nearby GameStop and reserved myself a Nintendo DS Lite to call my own once they arrive June 11th. It'll be far cheaper than Sarah's import but the wait will be painful enough. I never thought such a gaming machine would catch my fancy quite like this but it certainly has.
It's a great device with all the right moves to make it a winner. Light, sexy package, fun for funs sake games, wifi to let you get your n00b ass pummeled by a 12-year-old somewhere, and some games that don't even require each player own a copy to hook up. The ability to have your way with the DS anytime you like with no strings attached is also attractive. No TVs to turn on, no CDs to insert, and no dangling wires to tie you down. This puppy was meant to move, so much so that Sarah and I are fanticizing about the day we can both go to the gym and race Mario Kart while pedaling on a stationary bike. Trust me, it'll happen.
Anyway, it's all about the fun with this little device and we'll certainly be having some now and especially when I get my own. It'll also make the family dynamics run smoother once I don't have to slyly life Sarah's DS out from under her just to play a level or two. But, I swear, this'll be the last gadget I buy for a while! Gotta pay off those student loans sometime.
Mine will be white so I took my fav pic of Sarah's DS Lite and mocked up what a white version might resemble.
Consequently, if anyone out there wants to hook up and play just let me know in the comments and we'll make it happen.

Ooooo, Ooooo pick me, pick me!! I just have to convince Donna that I absolutely have to have one. LOL Which, of course is the real challenge.

You can pick up a regular DS right now for $110 -- $130 once the DS Lite hits June 11th. Best thing is you can buy it then easily hide it from family or greedy friends in a pocket or other nook.
