Oscar cut offs

No, I'm not talking about a wardrobe choice a la Jessica Simpson down tonight's red carpet. I'm talking about how winners of tonight's Academy Awards were repeatedly cut off before finishing up their acceptance speeches. I'll admit that I only tuned in to the last hour or so of the festivities but I was still blown away by the crass disrespect shown to a few Oscar winners that weren't allowed their moment in the spotlight. It usually happens in those larger groups of winners wherein the shows director takes the pause between accepting parties to cue up the orchestra and cut to a wide camera shot and into commercial. It happened more than once tonight and even to the two producers accepting the award for Best Picture. I was so hoping Jon Stewart would step in and make a witty comment about the practice but it never came and the curtain fell on, from what I saw, another dull Oscar awards show. Much like the large screen, cinema-going experience they were "celebrating" tonight due to ever dropping box office numbers (thank you DVDs and HDTVs) the show seemed to be lacking in substance and spirit. Instead, on what is arguably the biggest night of some Oscar winner's lives and a great feel-good opportunity on a network that prides itself on feel-good shows like Extreme Home Makeover and Medical Miracles, tonight's Oscars stunk.

Oh, and I'd like to thank--

nice on the compost bin! right now we have an ever-increasing pile under a tree in our backyard. no l-brackets or anything, although we're hoping to get a bit more compost-active as the spring/summer months come rolling through.

any ideas on what you're going to do with it? although we're going to have a garden, we definitely generate too much compost to know what to do with? know of any tacoma-based places to take it?

Yeah, i just didn't get it, they had so many problems, and cut offs, it was insane... For the biggest award show in the world, it sucked. There isnt a simpler way to put it. You'd think they would have rehearsed this, but noo, they cant even see that theres 2 people on the stage? Really, its pathetic, and what's even more pathetic is that no one saw this or what? I cant find too much info on it, its just plane rude and dumb.
