Photos ~ Pumpkin Carvefest 2005

Tonight after dinner Sarah and I hauled in our collective 60 pounds of pumpkins for the slaughter. Once ideas for our carvings came to mind and were seen out as sketches, we cut our victims open. After we scooped out their juicy, juicy brains seeds the goopy, stringy guts were next. After the pumpkins were prepped the time came to make our mark. I went for a somewhat traditional jack-o-lantern face with the twist that one half be evil and one good. Sarah's opted for a landscape-tilted approach and carved a cute up-side down bat. We had a great time listening to jazz on the radio and making a mess and the batch of pumpkin seeds we baked up came out fantastic -- albeit a little salty. Sarah's big on the salt.

Happy Halloween everybody!

Toni: She did show up after we were done and enjoy a couple small pieces of pumpkin.

Very salty pumpkin seeds are the best! In fact, when we carved our pumpkins the other day, Cheyenne insisted that we add MORE salt to my already garlic-salted, season-salted and regular salted seeds. Terry wouldn't try them for fear of a heart-attack. Silly boy.
