Photos ~ May 2007 Artwalk

Sarah and I enjoyed a great night out after work tonight. For Artwalk we got out to the Tacoma Glassblowing Studio, hit happy hour at Two Koi, then over to Mineral for RR Anderson's show. The glassblowing studio is a great setup and had a couple of the resident artists working the kilns. There's a great gallery of work and even info for classes people like you and me can sign up for.

Over at Two Koi we sat at the bar for some happy hour viddles. I ordered a sake-based bloody mary and Sarah got a sake-tini (or two). After we downed some miso soup an order of fresh and tasty gyoza was up then gone. From there it was sushi roll time. I had some great spicy tuna and Sarah her California rolls.

After that, and once we knew the actual street address (thanks Gav!) we stopped by Mineral to see RR Anderson's solo show. His Tacomics looked great on the walls as did his other sketch series. There was some video playing in the window and a clever black globe/guest book. It was fun chatting with Ryan and meeting the gallery owner Lisa and seeing a few red dots on pieces already sold.

Anyone else get out and enjoy tonight's Artwalk or today's Farmer's Market? Do share!

Wow. Cool. They are selling like hotcakes. I am glad to report I caused the first dot to be placed when I bought "Zimmerman's Legacy." Perhaps it started a swarm of red dots to be placed.

Do you remember which other drawings were sold? Any of the large ones?
