Photos ~ Wright Park Re-Opening

Yesterday was the official re-opening celebration for Wright Park. The renovation work took a couple years but was well worth the wait. Though the fountain was turned on before, the fence is now down and everything looks great. The pond is beautiful and inviting with new benches and picnic tables all around. The Lady o the Lake is back on her island and looking beautiful thanks to the help form local artist Lynn di Nino and the construction workers that found pieces from when they were dredging the pond. There's even wifi that covers a southern portion of the park that will be inviting to guys like me who love to mix nature and tech. Not to mention all the folks that work nearby at places like MultiCare that may want to get out of the office a bit yet still be productive. Cheers to the voters that approve the bond measure to fund this and other local parks projects and to everyone at MetroParks and the construction crews that made Wright Park stunning again.

I had the pleasure of being the official event photographer yesterday. I did my darndest to fill the talented shoes of my buddy Gavin who has recently shot a bunch of events for MetroParks. Here's a sample of what I got that hopefully they'll get plenty of use from. Meanwhile, if you haven't been for a while, give Wright Park another visit. I'm sure you'll be happy with what you see and experience there.

Looks like fun. Had a sick kid yesterday, so no baseball game, no triplets of belleville, no Wright Park opening. Oh well, we have a well kid today so it was worth staying home.

Nicely done Kevin. You've got some good photos.
