Proctor Chocolate Fest should tempt more people
Seriously. Something like this should have banners all over town because I can't think of a much better topic for a festival than chocolate. Sarah and I found a small Proctor District Chocolate Fest pamphlet for the occasion while grabbing a couple personal pizzas at Nick 'n Willy's last night. It all kicked off last Saturday with a chocolate pancake breakfast (yum!) but continues until next Saturday. Between now and then you can pick up a passport that lists 50 Proctor businesses for special deals and samples (hopefully of the chocolate-y variety) and will get codes to enter to win over $2,000 in prizes. The event will end Saturday with a community chocolate bake-off at Knapp's where you can also get forms to enter.
I wasn't around last Saturday but did anyone make the pancake breakfast or have the passport? Sounds like a good time and hopefully I'll find time to swing by the bake-off Saturday.

You're absolutely right about more promotion! I was very interested after reading a mention of it in the Grit City/Feed Tacoma post 'Festivals, feasts, fiestas and fetes' last week but I could find no real information on what this Fest included. Even the Proctor District website only tells you it's going on - they provide no specifics about what the "events" are or even a list of businesses are where you could pick up a passport. I may have participated if I had known more.
