Rainy Northwest Halloween
Sarah decided to skip town for business travel this Halloween so I lived it up! I went to work at my normal time then crazily left for home a half hour early. Yeah, a walk on the wild side. Actually, I left so I could prep a bit for any trick or treaters that would come by our place. I set out a large bowl of candy, flicked on our lights and decorations, and put together a quick Jedi outfit of my own using a borrowed costume from this year and my homemade light saber from three years ago. At first the often torrential rains kept all but the most determined Northwesterner's children indoors. After the rain died down (get it?) a pretty good lot of about 30 kids total paid our house a visit. After snapping some photos of me as a sexy Jedi I went back to my normal day's garb of a black shirt purchased after seeing Spamalot on Broadway in New York that reads "I'm not dead yet." It still seemed pretty appropriate for the night and many kids read it aloud and probably had little to no clue where it comes from. Someday when they're all grown up and in high school a thespian friend of theirs will force them into a viewing of Monty Python and the Holy Grail whilst they proudly recite every line of the movie yet understand less than half of it. Anyway, happy Halloween to all and here's to a ghoulish kickoff to the holiday season.

Um, I'm not seeing all those leftover Milky Ways you promised you'd filter out of the distribution process...

But what about the sexy Jedi?! Doesn't he get a comment?

Yes, sorry. The sexy Jedi is awesome! I only wish I could've seen him in person.

Too bad about the leftover candy! We had our usual coterie of trick or treaters -- 0! I do think our dark and spooky driveway would make a great haunted "house."

You might just be on to something there, Mom. Might be too much exercise walking up it for most parents though. We had some drive-up trick-or-treaters last night and I was sure to give them a piece or two less than the walkers.

A dashing young Obi Won. Cool special effects. You need to be in the movies.

Great pictures...so where are the rest of them? I have several people patiently waiting for pictures and I have reassured them that said pictures will be comming. Unfortunately they are growing restless and may, at some point in the near future, decide to lynch me and go to you directly...just a thought....
