Winter brings a silver lining
It's pretty easy to succomb to the pressures of this time of year. More often than not, the weather and turning of the season is usually stacked against us folks living in the Pacific Northwest. Today was different, however, for a couple reasons. The forecast has called for pretty serious quantities of rain for the past and for the next few days. This hasn't been the normal Northwest gray/drizzle but a warm, often times pounding, bout with precipitation that is normally seen only during the Spring or early Fall. The turbulant air and swiftly moving clouds brought a beautiful sight to an otherwise nearly shortest day of the year: a rainbow. At the time of the first glimpse I was in a meeting toward the rear of our office but everyone else arose such a clatter that we were beckoned toward the windows. Just as fast as it came, it receded into nearly nothing while the ones that did see it said it was a spectacularly bright, double rainbow. Thankfully the clouds revealed a few other rainbows the rest of the morning that, although not as brilliant as the first, were just as lovely to me. The color was a great addition brought about on the first full day of Winter.
Also tonight I created a decorative tree on the wall just inside our kitchen made of all the wonderful Christmas cards we've received to date. My parents did this at our house as long as I can remember and I thought it would make a great addition to our decorations. I can only hope that somewhere someone is doing something equally as meaningful and creative with one of our cards.
Have a great night everyone!
