A rolling car gathers no moss
Or so the proverb gets slaughtered. I don't quite know where my mind was this morning but it wasn't on my park job at work. Maybe I'm just missing Sarah or thinking about ways to launch a viable third political party in this country. My slip up came as I pulled into a parking spot at work. As I stepped from my car it magically started moving forward! I didn't think much of it for a split second then realized, though, that there was just enough of a slope under its wheels to allow it to roll were my parking break not properly set -- crap! I hurriedly reached inside and pulled the break just inches before a low-speed impact scratched or cracked up my front left bumper. Stupid.
I'll just chalk that up to a senior moment like my sitting on my plate of pizza a few days ago. Leave me alone.

Yeah, leave him alone. He comes from a long line of senior moment types and we do just fine, thank you very much. Kevin, maybe you need just a touch of caffeine before you get to work, no?

It seems we both take a nose dive in common sense/awareness when we're not around one another. I locked myself out of my hotel room while in my PJs when retrieving the complimentary newspaper at my door. Nothing is as dignfying as walking to the front desk in my PJs, past folks in 3-piece suits to request another key.

Must... resist... urg... Starbucks... pulling... me... in...
I'm afraid not, actually. I'm big on my resolve to avoid needing caffeine mostly because I've tried and it does nothing but make me thirstier and make my stomach queezy. I never feel good after drinking coffee. Ask Sarah -- I've tried.
Oh well, I'll just train Colby to knock something down every morning -- that ought to do the trick!
