Soggy days of June

If April showers bring May flowers, what do May and June showers bring? My guess is lower water bills. Our garden is full of all sorts of plants and our yard itself yerns to stay green. This all requires water and I'm more than happy to mix the warm summer-like sunshine that peeks through with the downpours we've been having the last couple days. The air smells crisp and fresh and the wife and I even sat out on our deck for a few last night while a storm cell passed over. Rain this time of year just doesn't carry the cold bite that it does during the other seasons. I wore shorts and sandals most of last weekend despite the precipitation and it was completely comfortable to enjoy the sounds of the rain outside last night.

Don't be discouraged, however, since there's plenty to do around town despite the wetness. Derek also points out a couple things to do and, as I mentioned yesterday, the Parade of Homes is pretty rain compatible (unless you want to have a close look at any landscaping). Enjoy the rain and low water bills while you can. As a Tacoman and Northwesterner I know why this place is so beautiful and green and I wouldn't trade that for month upon month of clear, dry weather... As long as we're treated to it once in a while. ;)

If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring? The answer I learned to this riddle (in elementary school) was "Pilgrims!"

You're on your own for an answer to May and June showers...

Yeah, it's felt downright tropical around here lately! I got soaked yesterday outside the grocery store, just trying to put my cart away.

Yes, tropical is right! I wore pants and a long sleeve shirt yesterday and I was DONE with that by the end of the day. Shorts and a T-shirt wrapped up my evening.
