Spring Break spare time

Being at home in La Center, Washington definitely has its perks. I love my parents and it's great to be able to be around them for Spring Break. Although I only go to school a mere 100 miles from here I don't get home very often during the school year. I realize that, even though I'll soon be to the point of seldom returning home for things like summer vacation, they enjoy seeing me even if only for these short periods of time. It's also really great of them to let me be here on my break. I can relax away from the academic environment that offers up some stress and lots of time committments. Spare time is a precious commodity that makes life run at a pace that I prefer. When I say "spare time" I don't mean a total down time in which I do absolutely nothing. No, spare time to me is an open slot in the ol' schedule that can be filled with anything that doesn't require a deadline for a grade. Spending time with friends, catching/renting a movie, or fiddling around on the computer—all perfectly acceptable activities for my spare time. And that's what this Spring Break is all about. Aside from a visit or two by some friends from school, my plans for this week-long spare time are open. And that's the way I like it.
