Perspective from Table Number One at Stadium Bistro
KFnet friend Annie just sent over an email about her recent experience at Stadium Bistro. Here's what she said...
We had dinner at the Stadium Bistro the other night, and we've had a pretty darn good meal there before, but it was my birthday so the husband pulled out something special. The Chef's Table. We sat in the kitchen, on a steel table with white linen, candle and flower, and had a four hour meal where Chef Pete made us absolutely exquisite dishes of his choosing, perfectly paired with a variety of wines, and outstanding conversation. Stuffed mushrooms, foi gras, duck leg, stuffed quail, dried beef and irish cheddar, asparagus salad, rack of lamb, tenderloin cutlets, berries in spiced custard, chocolate dipped angel food cake with berry cream and caramel. The kitchen crew, Pete, Chad and Lars were all personable and friendly, not stuffy or snobby, they explained their cooking secrets and kept us laughing and happy all night long. It was absolutely wonderful, and more people need to know about it.
We still haven't made it there ourselves (soon... very soon...) but have heard many good things. Head over to StadiumBistro.com for info on Table Number One and more. Well done over there, Pete! We'll head there soon.
Thanks Annie!

My husband and I had eaten at Stadium Bistro when they first opened and were unimpressed. Just the other day we decided to give it a second chance and now can't say enough good things about the place.
They have art on the walls, a great musician who plays beautiful background music while you dine, and the food was excellent! They've definately won us over! We'll be back and we're telling all our friends about the place too.

The food sounds incredible. However, I've got to admit, their website is terrible. If Stadium Bistro did not come recommended, I would certainly not visit on the merit of their (advertising) website. It extends a really amateur vibe which doesn't align at all with their offerings... what a shame.

I totally agree, spark. I was thinking of offering to help them out on that front.

This reminds me of a restaurant I took my wife to in Seattle. Rovers was the name I believe, though they didn't let you eat in the kitchen, which just sounds cool. What they did have is an eight course meal that they determined and the eating experience was three hours long. I look forward to trying out Stadium Bistro.

Thanks for the kind words, we're working hard to bring a new level of fresh, local, whole foods to Tacoma. Websites, that's another story, but we try hard :)
