Subpoena and testimony filed in Warren residency case
Todd Matthews posted an article in the Tacoma Daily Index regarding subpoenas and testimony filed in the case challenging City Council candidate Ronnie Allen Warren's residency. From the article...
Rachel R. Bennett, a Tacoma resident who claims she has known District 3 candidate Ronnie Allen Warren for 15 years... says Warren has lived in the 6300 block of South Fawcett with Tommie Frazier, a deacon at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Frazier's residence is located outside of District 3. According to Bennett, Warren has lived there since 2001, except for a period between August 2006 and March 2007. On the voter's guide, Warren listed his residence as located in the 2300 block of South Ash St., which is located in District 3. In the declaration, Bennett adds, "I know Mr. Warren was residing in Mr. Frazier's home in June 2007, when Mr. Warren claimed to reside in the 2300 block of South Ash Street in Tacoma."
The subpoena even names Qwest to try and nail down, via phone records, where Mr. Allen actually may or may not reside. An email from Warren even states he didn't remember his address when filing as a candidate in District 3.

Tacoma's first election contest based on residency since 1999. And that was for a Pierce County judge seat.
We now have our own local Bush v. Gore or Gregoire and Rossi election contest.
However, here at least, we are not counting votes.
Powell seems to be pretty determined. Look for an early resolution of the issue.

Isn't this the guy whose campaign signs say "Vote 4 A Man Of Integrity"?
He already lost my vote for not spelling out "for". :-D Let's see how the "District 3 or not" thing turns out. He's got some 'splaining to do.
