A formerly Sunday ritual

I busted out the chef's hat this morning and whipped up a batch of goo from which would, when properly cooked, spring forth a batch of grid-marked waffles. My parents' gift of a waffle iron for our couples shower came in handy today since we invited Gavin and Holly over to re-live a ritual that took place nearly every Sunday morning when Gav lived here with us. It used to go that I would get up and begin to make a pancake breakfast for Sarah. The intentions where there to only craft enough for the two of us but, wouldn't you know it, I could just never bring myself to reducing the recipe any. So, mostly meant as a way to get Gavin and Holly out of bed at a decent hour ;) I got in the habit of making enough to go around. The special ingredient(s): pajamas and chocolate chips. The pajamas were for the wearing while the chocolate chips went in the batter.

Anyway, the Jensens, as they like to be known, made the drive from their place in Kent wearing their Sunday best pajamas and we all enjoyed waffles. I figure that since we've got the new waffle iron it'll become a new tradition and one that we certainly enjoy christening with good friends.

Oh, and I didn't wear my pajamas because a) it was too chilly to be parading around in my boxers and b) that's all I wear to bed. Didn't want anyone losing their appetite!
