Capers Downtown Open for Lunch and Dinner (now w/photos)
On my way to a meeting I noticed that Capers Downtown, located at 701 Pacific Avenue, is opening it's doors today for lunch and dinner. Capers features a menu with numerous homemade items available for dine-in or take-out. With this restaurant opening, the corner of 8th and Pacific looks to be 100% occupied.
Hop over to Thrice All American for a review. I'll let you know once we have a chance to try them out. Can you say Wednesday office staff lunch?

Thought I saw you walking on the opposite side of Pacific when I was going down the street. Just got back from a little nibble there that augmented the lunch I brought from home... Brief review over at my site.

The opening surprised me.
Capers cooking is spot on. I ate their today for lunch. Anyone who has had their take out in Proctor knows how good they are. Yes, they actually cook here.
The location is pretty incredible being right on Fireman's Park.

Yes, perhaps the first time in 30 to 40 years. Matador, Maconis, Capers all on one block. Wow.

Having been acquainted with the Capers on Proctor we decided to have our bookclub meeting at the newly opened Downtown Capers. We loved the decor, the brightness and the low key ,but sophiticated atmoshere. The food was delicous. We had a variety ranging from the Special "Procuitto and peas over linguine, with a garlic. lemon and cream sauce , to the Zuchhini Quesadillas and the Pot Sticker salad. The desserts were heavenly and the owner Eve Hewitt was a gracious host. Great place, great food, great wine and great staff.
