Tacoma Photo Gang - Dome District

Felt good to be out with the gang again. With the dark days of Fall/Winter upon us it's harder for a 8-5er to get out and shoot. Thankfully yesterday I caught up with the Tacoma Photo Gang for a trek a round the Dome District. We met up at Freighthouse Square then crossed the street to take in the views from the top of the nearby parking garage. Fortunately we weren't hassled by security (though Mushroom was when not with the group) since we probably looked official or something and didn't seem the type for a mass jump off the 7th floor. A few new faces joined in and hopefully enjoyed themselves as we wondered down the street to the Sounder platform. There I snapped some shots of that gorgeous locomotive all wrapped in a "City of Destiny" theme. We covered a few more nearby blocks, took a group photo, then I had to head out for the day.

For me it was a shorter outing than most but really enjoyed myself. Can't wait for the next Beans & Seens. Great to see you all!

Outstanding. I'm inspired to take another stroll in the area.

...What's weird is that when that garbled announcement "no loitering and no cameras" came across the PA, I was crossing the parking lot with my camera in my coat to leave the building. Morgain stayed up there for a long time after without hassle, and we had all been wandering around up there for awhile before... Good to know that Transit Security doesn't let anything get past them. Seems the only time anyone ever saw Security was when we got onto the railbed.

Good times, good times.

I really enjoy looking at these pictures. I never thought that an urban/industry environment can be so interesting. I guess it's all about angles and perspective. Just like the picture of that pillar. Same one, different perspective resulting two different pictures. Yet another lesson learned today. Thank you!
