Out in old Japan Town with Tacoma Then & Now
I was finally able to hook up on a Tacoma Then & Now outing yesterday. With meticulously researched info handouts we headed out down Fawcett. The journey took us through some of Steve Cysewski's late 1970s photos of Tacoma and into a bit of its history. We endeavored to learn a little more about our town and match up some of the past through the Cysewski's photos.
Thanks to Gordon and his group for the fascinating shoots and for giving back by helping people learn about our heritage. Keep your eyes on the Tacoma Then & Now website and the FeedTacoma calendar for future outing info.
Here are some shots I matched up with Steve Cysewski's (in B&W) yesterday.

I did not even notice that. Nice effect.
Although its a little hard to compare their condition completely as one is color and the other is black and white.
Nevertheless, a great effect for comparing Then and Now. Too bad the bottom two buildings are still empty. There was supposed to be a company moving into the Ford Building. Hope they follow through.
