Tacos on my mind

I always love how certain things in life just tend to synchronize sometimes. Yesterday when I wrote about some historic maps, a reader noted he was thinking about getting into some historic maps just that morning. Today, it's tacos. First there's a not-so-recipe-oriented article in the News Tribune suggesting folks drop the BBQ this Labor Day weekend and instead opt for the far easier to dish up tacos. Good idea even if Ed was a bit light on the culinary specifics there.

The cowinkydink part comes as tonight is also $1 soft taco night at our favorite (and only, actually) dueling piano bar Chopstix! Head over for some cheap grub and, while you're at it, draft beers are $2. Sounds like a solid way to get over hump day to me.

Oh, and the word "taco" can be found in our fair city TACOma's name. Isn't that clever.

By the way, since we're on the taco topic, how the heck do you suppose you eat these? I'm just askin'.

Tacos? Really? That's what your brain was thing about? I suppose there are many other subjects that would be worse to ponder over. And I admire you getting the word cowinkdink in your article. I'll have to use that one today if I get a chance. Then someone will ask me where I heard that word and I’ll respond by saying " I read it on kevinfreitas.net of course where else" what do you think?

Sounds good to me, Steve. I think we can all use a good "word of the day" from time to time. Every week, perhaps...
