toasterpastrypain@kevinfreitas.net

So the time has come for this website to enter a new era of locality. The address: www.kevinfreitas.net. If by now you haven't already noticed the address displayed in the location bar above, this is the new spot for my personal site. Being served off of a pieced-together Linux box about two feet from this computer I hope to retain kevinfreitas.net in some way for the rest of my life (or until the internet folds – whichever comes first). I pay a mere $15 dollars a year to own my online name and I'm hopeful it will a logical way for anyone who cares to find out what's going on in my life.

This means that I'll pay closer attention to how often I keep my readers apprised of this guy's life 'n times. Now that I'm on my own server one portion of this website I'll be proud to update is the Photos section (under Artwork). Since I'm now in charge of this site in almost all regards, I can clog (maybe that's not the right word to use) this server's hard drive with as many samples of my digital photography as I please. I feel as thought I've broken free from the shackles of having to design a site that is confined by someone else's size limitations. Although it's great to keep things small and speedy for all the modem-jockies out there I just want to make available more of what I consider to be an expression of me. In this case photos and whatever other pieces of multimedia I deem fit to serve as a part of this site.

Now I would like to write about frivolous lawsuits. I'm talking about the type that seem so absurd that people can't help but to take note. I could be speaking of the current state of American presidential politics but instead I'm referring to toaster pastries. Those sweet pads of [artificial] fruit filling and bread that many of us college-types heat up and wolf down all the while claiming to have just ingested a healthy breakfast (lunch or dinner). You can probably imagine that I too indulge in the dessert-like goodness such as I just mentioned. Don't worry, I'm seldom the type to make it an entire meal. Although they do make great snacks! Anyway, I digress...

Well this morning the toaster pastries struck back! "Enough!" my generic-brand goody cried as it hopped out of our mini oven and attached its hot goo to the tip of my right index finger! The instant burn was enough to make me take note and wish that the sentence before this were true. But no. In my infinite morning wisdom I grabbed for the scalding part of my complete breakfast and grazed its melted topping with the aforementioned finger. All I can say now is that the pain didn't last far into the morning and obviously isn't preventing me from typing this entry. Still, the emotional scars will be long to heal as I'll surely store this morning in my long-term memory.

Or not.
