Toasty weather

Today was the last day that I find necessity in waking up later than noon. After viewing my first Space Shuttle launch last night, I'm a very satisfied trooper today. Off to work I went after breakfast. Today was spent in an unusually warm GIS lab typing on my paper. Although I get caught up on certain ideas and redundancies, the paper is coming along rather nicely. The warm temperatures inside could only barely compare to the blaze outside. The temperature here today reached 99º and had a heat index of 115º. Walking outside was more than a chore even though I only walked from one building to the next.

Without much to do tonight, I relaxed to prepare for my work tomorrow. I also can't believe that in less than a week, I'll be in Melbourne at our final meeting. Then, I'll be on vacation with my cousin Dave. We're slated to wander around St. Augustine, FL for a day or two then drive up the Atlantic coast back to Atlanta. August 5th is my flight back home. I've much to pack before I leave next Thursday but am going to become quickly overwhelmed by my load of work. I can't wait to have my poster, paper, a presentation ready. I hope the data we gathered turns out useful.

Now, I leave you with a picture I took of the sky today. Just imagine all the moisture in the air that caused those beautiful rays of light, beading up on your skin as the Sun bakes the ground you walk on.
