Two Koi quietly opens today

Sounds like folks waiting for more sushi downtown need wait no longer. It seems Two Koi just of the Plaza will open today. Here's the blurb:

Twokoi, a Japanese restaurant located in the historic Carlton Building at the corner of Commerce and Jefferson, is holding their soft opening and first day of operation today!

Doh! If I weren't hopping in the car after work and heading south out of town I'd SO be there. Someone tell me how it is 'cause I can't wait. I'm sure my wife will welcome this news, too. Rev up that sushi obsession engine, sweetie -- they're right down the block from your office!

Via Forward Tacoma. Thanks Erik!

Update (3:07pm)
Just had a chat with Mai-Lee Bowyer the GM over at Two Koi to get the scoop. She said that diners can stop (dinner will be about about 5-8pm all this weekend) to sample a discounted menu while their staff and chefs get everything down. The grand opening will be mid- to late October and will be an event with proceeds going to charity.

Looks like Sarah and I will be arranging our evening to stop by. Should be fun to try it out and lend them our feedback.

Are you looking to help "activate" the Plaza? Here's your chance.

I have watched the place develop over the last few months. It looks very nice.
