Up and down
Just a few things to write about today. I met with Dr. Foley (my academic advisor) this morning and determined my schedule for the Spring 2000 semester. It'll consist of a mere 13 credits yet will unavoidably interfere with one of my greatest loves: Jazz Ensemble. I have yet to break it to many people but nothing can be done about it. At any rate, if I were to neglect the particular GEOS classes that conflict with said Jazz Ensemble, I would have to hang around taking classes at PLU until after Spring of 2002! Yes, in the Geosciences department at PLU, some classes alternate being offered every other year. So, this is one of thos other years. I'm a junior. So, unless I want to end up a sixth-year senior with only 4 credits needed to fulfill my BS, I'll have to put Jazz Ensemble off for a semester. I suppose if I did stick around I could be in Jazz Ensemble all that time. Then maybe I'd actually learn how to improv!
The title of this entry comes from those days in a person's life when your future sways back and forth in your mind. Frusteration in one place always leads me to question my sense of mortal direction. I usually seem to redeem myself somewhat and the questions of my future just blur away. Some classes I feel like I know very little while other times I feel like I should be submitting myself for thumb-sucking duty. I suppose I should give myself some credit for getting this far but, you know what, I can't. I'm not truly sure what it would take for me to satisfy my intentions in life but I am sure that I'm enjoying where I am. What comes should be a great ride. One of my professors said today that life is like clam chowder and can be garnished one of three ways: with katchup, Tobasco, or something else (I forgot, sue me). I'll take the Tobasco please.
Oh! I'm also progressing rather nicely with this website upgrade. I've now started adding some entries from way back in 1998! Eat, drink, and be marry!
