Me from her
It's Valentine's Day and I went through my normal work and class routine for the day. The best part was having a nice, subtle Valentine's dinner with Sarah. She decided a few days ago that she really wanted to cook me my favorite meal just like my mom does. So yesterday while Sare was in the Multimedia Lab doing some work for the Tacoma Art Museum website I had her give my mom a call in Portland at her work. With her timid, somewhat higher-pitched but still respectful phone voice she queried Mom for her secrets when it comes to the fried porkchop, Kraft macaroni and cheese, and applesauce (with cinnamon) meal that I love so much. Sarah got what she wanted from my mom and was surprised at the apparent easy nature of the meal.
So I got off work and after half of our daily Simpsons regiment we hit the kitchen and made us some dinner. It turned out great and I even provided a slight variation to the salt and pepper my mom dashes on the 'chops before cooking them: a slightly spicy, seasoned pepper that I picked up a couple months ago in a hot food place in the Tacoma Mall. The seasoning burned a little but on the outside but the porkchop and the flavor that came from our variation was great.
There we sat. Our TV-tray place-setting made for a fantastic romantic meal. While the other half of our Simpsons regiment played before us, we quietly enjoyed the fact that on our third Valentine's together we were (and are) still very much in love. It's a great day to be me. Thanks Sarah!
