Volunteer wanted: Landmarks Preservation Commission
Want to have your say with preservation here in Tacoma? The Landmarks Commission is seeking a volunteer who knows what they're doing. From an email:
Professional: Open to individuals with documented professional experience or training related to historic preservation originating from employment or study within a related discipline, who reside or work within the City of Tacoma.
To apply, contact Cindy Leingang, Mayor’s Office, (253) 594-7848, or visit www.cityoftacoma.org/cbcapplication. To ensure consideration, applications are due no later than Feb. 28.
So if you know anything about keeping old buildings around put your experience where your knowledge is. Or something like that. Probably no pay involved (hence the word "volunteer") so you better love this stuff a plenty.
