VW envy

I want this car!

The story today is a VW show/swapmeet Sarah and I attended at the Puyallup Fairgrounds just down the freeway from here. My brother brought the event to my attention last week at dinner while I was at home visiting. I mentioned my interest in someday buying a Karmann Ghia and converting it to an electric or hybrid-electric vehicle. That's why I went and Sarah was there because a new love she longs to have in her life comes in the form of a royal blue VW Jetta. Both sexy cars were easy to find today.

Although most of the time we spent there was walking through rows of spare parts, we saw some fun examples of the cars we lust after. I saw a Ghia made up to look something like the Batmobile's little brother and Sarah saw, not one but, two Jetta's that fit her profile. It's pretty funny how both of us want something like a new car in our lives all of a sudden. We're both the type of people that, once an idea is planted in our brains, we have to research it. I think we think it a responsible thing to do when considering such purchases. It's probably really just a way for us to justify wanting something that we well know is more fun than practical. Oh well. We want what we want.
