Warrior's End - Playing the part of an extra

A co-worker and I got up early this morning and drove out past Snoqualmie Pass to join the cast and crew of Warrior's End for some filming. We were extras but we had a great time. Everyone gathered at a private lodge in the woods lovingly called Trollhagen. There, we were given our good and bad guy costumes. Once dressed in good guy garb a few drivers shuttled everyone in big white vans out to the site to film. We all hauled equipment and props out to the mostly empty reservoir and soon the action begun. Throughout the day we filmed scenes of attacking armies, lines of archers firing volleys toward the enemy, multi-pronged attacks, army pep talks, and even a village burning. With the fifty or so extras on-hand the crew seemed to be really happy with the shots they got and we definitely had fun playing with all the swords and axes we weilded for the day. We were used pretty wisely by the director as we changed from good to bad guys after lunch to film different scenes. Although really tired, Andy and I had a great time helping out for the good of the film and hope it comes out really well.

Way to go Kev! That is some serious hardware that you got to haul around. Looks like a well run film and I look forward to seeing it.

Thanks man. We had a great time out there albeit a tiring day. There's just something about having a hunk of metal like a sword at your side and in your hand that makes you feel pretty damn cool. I'm thinking I'll get one if even I move into the city -- sure beats a gun.

Great photos, Kevin! Made me go look at some of your other shots, you've got a good eye! I had been thinking all weekend I should have brought a camera for the scenery, but your shots are better than any I could have taken.

These are great. It was a wonderful location. Hope to see more photos from Sunday too, if they are available. Good job!

Ann: Thanks so much. I've always enjoyed taking photos and with a recently purchase I stepped into the DSLR realm. You and the other Seattle Knights looks awesome, by the way!

dave: I need to get me a cloak and sword. Makes me feel so very Jedi.

Doug: Thanks, I had a great time out there with everyone. Unfortunately I wasn't around for Sunday's shooting so don't have anymore pics to share.

Hi,

Any objections if I take a couple of the photos that have me in them? I will keep the credits with them if I post them.
