Photos ~ A weekend with family
Starting yesterday, Sarah and I enjoyed a brief trip south to Vancouver, WA to be with family. Although the weather was rotten it was great to see and spend time with everyone. The drive down yesterday started great here in T-town but degraded with sometimes heavy rain and constant road mist making for a constantly concentrated drive. The newly lowered speed limit of 60 MPH through Centralia and Chehalis kinda' ticked me off, too.
Once in town we visited and ate lunch with Sarah's mom and sister. We got to meet their cute new kitten Helios and have some conversation for the great part of the afternoon. We then headed up to my parents' place in La Center to have some dinner served up from my dad's new bar-b-q. My Uncle Lanny was in town which is always a delight. The rain never seemed to let up despite my mom's claims that it was constantly "getting lighter" outside. Thanks for being a good sport, mom, while we poked fun at the idea of the weather "getting lighter" all weekend long. ;)
Today we woke up early to head over to Elmer's for a filling breakfast followed by a stop at my brother's house to feed the animals while he and his wife honeymoon in Belize. We also got to see their newly remodeled bathroom that has some great tile work and metal accents created by my brother himself. From there we paid a visit to see my grandma who was looking rather well. We chatted with her and snapped a couple photos before heading across the river to Troutdale for some much needed outlet mall shopping. Some shirts and a couple pairs of pants later then we headed back to grab our things and end the weekend with a visit to the plant nursery in Woodland where we got yet more greenery to help fill out our garden.
Thanks to everyone for a great couple of days and, dad, we'll totally be taking you up on your offer of help with house projects soon! Love you all!

Does it say anything that rain stopped as soon as you left?? Just a question. Thanks for the pix and, of course, the conversation. A delight for me, too. -- uncle lanny

Me too! It was great to have you all and to brighten Grandma's day and to have you help us christen the new BBQ machine. Helios is mighty cute too.

Wow, great photos. We headed south this weekend too--thought it was never going to stop raining!

The rain was the reason for making sure to post some colorful flower photos. I wore shorts and sandles all weekend in hopes that warm, weekend weather would come. Lo, it only chose to appear today instead.
