Big Blow '06 - Wind storm in Tacoma

The predictions of all the various weather authorities were correct. Tonight some seriously heavy rains and gusty winds kicked the residents here in Tacoma around a bit. Thing were pretty calm most of the night here in North Tacoma but quickly grew pretty harsh. After a date at the local Chopstix with some girlfriends, Sarah and Angela (of the Ferguson's) needed a ride home. Although a little late for my blood the nearly midnight trip proved an interesting one since the rain was coming down in hard, thick sheets. Driving a slow 25 MPH on the local roads in the rain isn't usually anything to think twice about but when the precipitation is heavy and being blown around by gusts of winds, the fast wipers were definitely needed. Everyone got home safe and sound and I even managed to snap some photos of the deluge from the vantage point at the top of the car's steering wheel.
