Xbox early Xmas present

Yesterday before leaving Vancouver Sarah and her mom visited the mall where Sarah picked up her early Xmas present: a shiny new Xbox. Mostly thanks to Aaron and Matt Sarah has been wanting one of the game consoles for a couple years especially since she laid her fingers on Oddworld's Munch's Odyssey. There were also a couple Oddworld games released prior on PC that she played on her laptop in college but now she could only get her fix via the Xbox. We thought, however, that Munch's Odyssey may turn out to be elusive because of its age -- well, we proved that wrong tonight.

After our work days (wherein we informed everyone about our wedding) we drove over to a nearby shopping center to pick up, among other things, a couple Xbox games, teriyaki dinner, and kitty litter. Sarah's new-found knowledge of GameStop led us there first where we were delighted at their selection of used Xbox games. Not only did they have plenty to choose from but there was a buy two, get one free deal we needed to take advantage of. So I picked up some Star Wars space shooter, a Sega racing game, and some Robotech toon-shaded action title -- all for only $18! Sarah spent a little more (about $40) and got GTA: Vice City (after a stern "this game is rated M for mature" warning by the sales clerk), Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and Munch's Odyssey! Yup, she found it and now it'll be a chore keeping her from staying up late amidst her school, our wedding plans, and the like.

Eventually we'll be modding the Xbox to act as our make-shift media center and emulator console. Should be fun times!
