The zen of video portability

After I picked up a Creative Zen Vision a couple weeks ago I have hardly put it down. Today was no different as I sucked the battery dry listing to music and watching a video. How that video got to the device was, however, a somewhat circuitous route that worked flawlessly. In the words of B.A. Baracus COL Hannibal (thanks for the correction, Jeff), I love it when a plan comes together. Here's how it went:

Used my Palm from downstairs at home to VNC to my desktop to start it downloading a video. I checked in from work via Java-based VNC through the web browser Safari to see if it was done. Once it was, I FTP'd the video file up to our server where I then used my PC at work to grab the file. Once downloaded, I broke out my 257-in-one card reader and copied the file over to my digital camera's CF card. From there I loaded the card into the Zen and transferred the video. Once on the device, it played flawlessly and I enjoyed watching it during my lunch break.

It's nice when stuff you think should work, works.

One small point of correction. The character who used the phrase "I love it when a plan comes together" was the commander COL Hannibal, not the overmuscled but highly amusing B.A. Barracas

I stand corrected -- good call on that one. It's been a while for me watching the A Team but it certainly made its impression on me when I was a kid, what with all the horribly inaccurate weapons that never injure anyone I have around the house and all. ;)
