Sarah and I had a great time out at First Night for New Years Eve last night. We followed our itinerary without wavering 'cause each performance we saw was right on! There was enough good stuff planned that we thought we might do some double shifts by sneaking out of one performance to see another. No need though.
We'll be keeping our eyes out for more Oh Voices for their great depth of song and style, Over the Water Hurdy-Gurdy Association for the sheer fun of hearing such an amazing instrument, The Little Brothers for their heart-wrenching alternative (though I would almost call it "soul") country, and Zazou's tight and creative (love their tiki bar traffic island song) French/gypsy jazz sound.
Thanks to everyone who brought First Night back with such great entertainment and for putting on a solid fireworks display that went off without a hitch (unlike some others I know). See you next year and Happy 2008 everyone!
