Photos ~ Old Town Sacramento, Cali's Capitol, and a Bit of Davis

We got a slow, lazy start to the day but then headed out across town on foot. We wandered toward the river toward Old Town and were immediately struck by the serious cheese, Disney factor. It was charming enough but after a mediocre lunch we headed off down toward the capitol for a quick look on our way back to Libby's apartment. My feet were sore from my distinct lack of walking shoes (doh!) but we took advantage of the car to head to Fry's to pick her and her roomie up a wireless router (I fixed their TV, wireless, and DVD player while there -- seems they were impressed!) then out to UC Davis where she works. We sat in a park there and enjoyed some amazing frozen yogurt then headed out to see Robert Mondavi Institute and their beautiful Good Life Garden. The rest our evening was set after we hit a few places for some goods then cooked and ate 'til late into the night. Can't really take any credit but Libby put together a coq au vin with garlic mashed potatoes, mache and arugula salad with lemon-strawberry vinaigrette finished off by some freshly baked molasses cookies. Yeah, damn.
