We awoke at 4am to head to Ilwaco and board the Sarah Kay for our morning journey out to sea. Once we headed out and rounded the mouth of the Columbia River our trusty skipper took us north where, just after sunrise, the fish were practically jumping in the boat. In just over an hour or 12 passenger trip caught their limit of two coho each plus four extra for the two man crew. I managed to reel in a [surprising] 6 fish for the day and even one crab! It was great to spend time out with Joseph and Dad. Once our catch was cleaned and prepped I hopped in my car and took the bounty home to Seatle.
