Ferry to Bainbridge Island and Sculptures in the Bloedel Reserve

What better day that a sunny Fall Sunday to skip town on a ferry to have a nice stroll and take in some art and fresh air? Connie and I headed over to Bainbridge Island to see Julie Speidel's sculptures in the landscape at the stunning Bloedel Reserve. The work was faceted and looked almost digital/fake against the lush, green and fall-colored landscape of the grounds. Though at first we weren't sure we'd like the faceted metal pieces we grew to love them especially set anywhere they could reflect in water or even atop a shiny piano lid! We caught the exhibit on its last day and what a stunning one it was! From there we went into town for lunch then a warm, sun-drenched ferry back to Seattle.
